Raising the Bar - Food systems and a zombie apocalypse
20 Meyers Place
20 talks in 10 bars on one night. A new event in Melbourne is bringing together beers and brains, wine and wisdom, musings and martinis. Naturally, we are there to be a part of this exciting new event.
Raising the Bar is a worldwide initiative aimed at making education a part of a city's popular culture. They create unique, knowledge-driven events in unusual locations. It started in New York City in 2014 and this year is descending on Melbourne.
There are many fascinating talks on the line-up but our favourite (of course) is Serenity Hill and her talk 'Are our current food systems resilient to a zombie apocalypse?'
Serenity was a part of our MNSI research project Open Food Network. The project set out to create an open source marketplace to connect farmers with local food consumers. Since its MNSI seed funding in 2014 the Open Food Network has become a global collaboration. Click on the video below to find out more.
You can hear Serenity Hill speak about food systems and zombies on Wednesday 23 November from 6:30pm at Meyers Place, 20 Meyers Place Melbourne. This event is free, but please register because these events can book out.
We hope to see you there!
