The Internet of Things (IoT) is the “buzzword du jour” that covers the concept of connecting devices in the field to servers in the core. There are multiple ways to connect devices, depending on the need and circumstances. One connectivity method is described as LPWAN - Low Power Wide Area Network.
Eric Hamilton, Chief Technology Officer of NNNCo, will describe the range of connectivity methods that are used in IoT, and the circumstances where each connectivity method can be most cost effective and efficient. Eric will also go on to describe NNNCo’s approach to providing IoT services to Australia.

About the speaker
Eric Hamilton has been in the telecommunications and related industries for more than 30 years. Eric has worked on a diverse range of technologies and services, ranging from satellites to submarine cable systems. Eric has worked extensively in wireless and ISP technologies, having held senior positions in Telstra, OzEmail and Optus, prior to becoming the CTO of Unwired - a pioneer in the provision of fixed wireless broadband services.
Eric is now the Chief Technology Officer of NNNCo which is an IoT (Internet of Things) service provider. Eric is responsible for the overall design, planning, construction, commissioning and eventual operation of NNNCo’s LPWAN solution.
Eric holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering.
