Director's End of Year Message
An end-of-year message from Prof Thas Nirmalathas, Director of University of Melbourne's Networked Society Institute:
Looking back on this year gives me a sense of gratitude. I am privileged to be part of a dynamic community of research scholars and collaborators who are engaged with exploring the challenges and opportunities of life in a networked society.
I am thankful for our interdisciplinary research teams working across the boundaries of understanding to uncover new ideas. Your initiative is an asset to the University, positioning it to tackle some intriguing and relevant societal issues.
Our Institute has been enriched by the engagement from visitors and research leaders. We had another enjoyable and successful Networked Society Symposium this year and many thought-provoking talks and workshops over the course of the year. Thank you all for your participation, wisdom and wit.
I am sure that the new year will be as exciting as this year was, if not better. On this occasion, I wish to thank my Institute Team for making all this possible and also appreciate the enormous contribution from members of the Executive Committee and Advisory Board through their guidance, mentorship and sharing of networks.
Seasons Greetings and look forward to reconnecting with you in the New Year!
