Networked Society Symposium 2017 (NSS17)

A big thank you to all our speakers, presenters, and attendees at Networked Society Symposium 2017. It was a fun and fascinating day showcasing the breadth of interdisciplinary research from the Institute and exploring big ideas and issues surrounding the networked society.

Nearly 400 attendees enjoyed discussions on the philosophy of technology, presentations on urban green spaces, futuristic healthcare, and how the networked society is evolving.

The keynote speech by Professor Luciano Floridi from University of Oxford is now available as a podcast on SoundCloudiTunesStitcher or wherever you find good podcasts. Accompanying slides can be found here.

The symposium saw the launch of our first hackathon, AutoHack18, a new extended-form hackathon on automation that will run from December to January 2018.

We also launched a new video for the Institute that gives an overall view and feel of our work and interests. Please share with your networks to help us spread good ideas and expand the networked society community.

Another highlight of the day were poster presentations from our inaugural Doctoral Academy that generated much enthusiastic discussion in between sessions.

Thank you again to everyone for being a part of this great event. We hope to see you all for NSS18!
