Networked Society Institute in iAwards National Finals

The Institute is proud to have its Music Therapy in Virtual Environments research project in the National Finals for iAwards, which will be held in Melbourne on 30 August 2018.

This is well-deserved recognition of the outstanding work from the interdisciplinary research team behind this project working to deliver music therapy to people with quadriplegia via online virtual reality systems.

In June, NSI staff members Yunhan Li and Adam Lodders (above) accepted the Merit award in the Infrastructure and Platform Innovations of the Year category and ran live demos of the virtual environment and technology to attendees.

The National iAwards will follow a similar format with our research team delivering live demos of their low-latency virtual environment followed by a pitch presentation in competition for the top award.

The iAwards is Australia's longest-running and most broadly scoped innovation recognition program, promoting excellence in the Australian digital ecosystem from the likes of Google Maps, Atlassian, Wotif and  WiseTech Global.

Watch this space and - fingers crossed - next month we will announce a win in the finals!

Ben Loveridge, Dr Jeanette Tamplin, and Yunhan Li
